There's certainly no changing it now, much to my regret.
[ Maybe less for his own sake and more for Adrian's, considering it'd seemed like a good enough deal to Sunday at the time they'd signed. ]
I'm sure that the branch of The Family responsible for finances will find it an amusing story all the same should I ever have a chance to tell it. Or perhaps I could've remembered my own strengths were elsewhere before we signed.
That, and that I was supposed to be headed somewhere else on a journey but all these months later it seems I am still the only passenger who made it here instead.
[ The Astral Express made it to Amphoreus, he now knows with Aglaea's confirmation. That'd brought him considerable relief. ]
I would hope that any leader who makes a mistake would admit to it. Though... of course, whether anyone does admit to their mistakes is more of an ideal than reality, I've found over the years. Regardless, I hold myself to that standard all the same.
[ This is a detail that Fern hadn't yet gathered from Sunday, so she can't help but wonder. Especially with the mention of other "passengers." Some sort of ship voyage, perhaps? ]
So you're some manner of leader in this dream land you come from. That's a position you had to work up to?
To another star system or more specifically, a planet within it.
[ A partial explanation, but he'll start there. ]
Was a leader, but yes. It took some years before I was appointed to that position through my branch of the organization which oversaw the other branches as well.
[ Even without his second reply, Fern can tell that there's a story here. Perhaps she's picked too much at a scabbed-over wound, but Sunday doesn't completely shut her down either. ]
You're right, that's probably for the best. I would rather not fall into texting you paragraphs upon paragraphs as Adrian does.
[ No way she's doing that, sorry to say. ]
Either way, I'll see you at the bar.
[ Not that she intends to press him for answers then. It seems a conversation best had somewhere a bit more private, were she to guess. ]
[ Despite the somber tone (on his end, anyway) of the messages from moments ago, reading this one gets a solid chuckle from Sunday. For all of what's said, really, in that she'd be willing to hear the story.
Of course, whatever will happen after that remains to be seen, but until then he'll be glad for it all the same. ]
I shall endeavor to keep my texts on the shorter side at your request, Miss Fern. [ Teasing, just a little, though Fern's absolutely correct about the paragraphs. ] Until then it is.

Do you plan to tell the story, then? If you ever have that chance.
[ The ability to admit to mistakes is a noteworthy trait. ]

All this talk of positions and branches and organizations. Granted, Fern's part of the Harpers, but they're not quite so... bureaucratic. ]
You WERE a leader, you said? Then you resigned from your position to go traveling?

Something like that.
[ Not at all ominous! Much as he'd like to change the conversation to... anything else... Sunday sighs and follows that up rather quickly. ]
It is a long story and one perhaps better told in person Traveling was going to be part of it, for better or worse.
