That would make things difficult as I've become used to listening to either the tapes or CDs in my car.

I've heard others have located more portable options within diffusion zones. Granted, it relies on coming across one, but that may be an option.

[ The option to listen to music in her motel room when she has little else to do and the television doesn't have much of interest for her is somewhat appealing. ]

In that case, I'll have to keep my eye out for something along those lines. Do you know what they look like?

The ones that I've seen seem to be roughly the size of CDs or cassette tapes for whichever they're meant to play. They're also helpfully labeled for which, unless that was specific to the CD player for sale recently at a thrift store near the motel.

[ Which is likely still there given the price seemed rather high even to Sunday's questionable budgeting, but that visual might help Fern more than this description. ]

I see. In that case, I'll keep an eye out. I'm at thrift and pawn shops fairly often, selling items of value that I find in the Fringes.

It certainly can't hurt. I've heard there's also different devices though I've not seen one so at least those are easier to be found, with any luck.

And speaking of that. You've had luck yourself with what you've come across in the Fringes, I take it?

I suppose I have. Not every venture out there leads to goods worth something, but I am always on the lookout. It's never a bad idea to have a supplemental means of earning joolies.

That is for certain when so many other things are not. I shall have to keep that in mind myself when exploring, though I'll let you know if I find either of those portable players on any of my trips.

[ As for CDs, though, Fern might just find a couple of those are delivered to her in the meantime... ]

Speaking of that, how are things going with paying off your debt?

[ Sorry, she has to ask. It is a genuine question, though.

(She's curious to know if Sunday is closer to paying off his car compared to Adrian as well.) ]

[ If Fern imagines him sighing upon reading this, she'd be absolutely correct. ]

It has certainly been interesting.

It's getting there though it'll be some time yet, I'm sure, given that it was an unfortunate amount in retrospect.
