Did you find employment as well?

Something temporary, yes.

[ But don't ask too many questions because I don't have details yet, whoops. ]

It's hard to imagine anyone manages to pay down their debt at these wages.

[ All of them start off that way, so Fern doesn't think all that much of it. ]

If you maintain steady work, you'll get there. It took me about half a year to pay off my motorcycle.

How many months was that?

[ It's just she recently learned her weeks are a different length to the weeks her. ]

[ It's not that awkward. Fern's aware of how much even calendar systems can differ from place to place. ]

Six months, each with about thirty days.

Fascinating. So — twelve months in a year? We have ten.

Even aspects of our lives that we took for granted can be different between worlds, it seems.

Are you also from Earth? So many seem to be.

No, I am from the land of Faerun. The world is called Toril. I have noticed that about Earth, though.

A planet called Roshar. Have you heard it mentioned by anyone else?

[ Ah. She's in her 'looking for fellows from home' phase. ]

[ Fern knows the feeling. A part of her has now given up on anyone else arriving past herself and Adrian. There are others from Faerûn who have come here, but when it comes to those who were in Barovia with her, it feels absurd to keep hoping. ]

Not that I can recall, no. But I will keep an ear out for it.

Some may say Alethkar, instead. If you hear of either...

[ What? Should she dare to hope? What a dreadful position to be in. Relegated to hope. ]

[ She could drop the names Alden, Shump, and Taulok, but she doesn't see much point in it anymore. They'll either arrive here one day, or they won't. In truth, it's probably better that they get home somehow. ]
